Baptism & Confirmation

You want the best for your child, and so does God! Baptism is an important first step in your child’s Christian journey. Parents who present their children for Baptism are saying:

We are striving to live the Christian faith and to do so within the family of Jesus’ believers. We want this life for our child as well. We will use and celebrate our faith, and we will teach our child to do the same.

Baptisms are administered as part of the regular Sunday worship service. Prior to the baptism parents will meet with the Parish Priest to look at the service, to hear some helpful ideas on Christian upbringing in the home, and to have their questions answered.

If you have questions or wish to arrange an appointment, please call the church office at 613-692-2082.

Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey at which you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptized and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship. This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop. The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus.

Periodically, the Rector conducts classes for those intending to be confirmed.  If you wish to make this commitment, please contact the parish priest.
