The mission of Kids’ Club is to provide the children of St James aged 3-12 with an excellent opportunity for education in the Word of God and the stories of the Bible, in a joyful and inclusive environment. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to accompany their children.
Every Sunday at the 10:00am service, the children can join Caitlyn Hellard in learning a new story of the bible in a fun, interactive way that they will understand. This is followed by a craft and/or activity related to the bible story. Unfortunately, Kids’ Club is not currently available due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. With the help of Reverend Kerri Brennan, Caitlyn has established new activities to get the children of St James involved. At the beginning of the pandemic, Caitlyn and Kerri were uploading bi-weekly, interactive live streams reading and discussing bible stories for children.
These are still available to view on the St James Facebook page. For a more hands on approach, Caitlyn is now delivering monthly “Kids’ Club Learning Kits”. Every month, a bag is dropped off to each child’s door which includes weekly bible stories and crafts/activities for the children to do each week, following along with the online service. Our goal is to keep the children of St James included and connected during this difficult time. If you are interested in signing up for a monthly Kids’ Club delivery bag, please do not hesitate to call the Church office or email Caitlyn or Reverend Kerri directly.
We believe that parents are the primary Christian educators of their children and are encouraged to participate.

My name is Caitlyn Hellard and I have been the Kids Club coordinator here at St James since 2018. I have a passion for working with children and I love spending time with the kids every Sunday. I am so glad I get to be a part of their life. I have made friendships and connections through the church and Kids Club that will last a lifetime.
I have been attending St James with my parents since 2011. Shortly after attending the services at St James, I was baptized by Father Ross on January 8th 2012. While at St James, I have been a part of the Limitless Youth Team, an altar server, and a member of the choir. These were all great experiences that I enjoyed being involved with.
In my free time, I love playing music. I play piano and saxophone and I also sing. I have been playing saxophone in Concert and Jazz bands for 6 years and I have been taking vocal, piano, and music theory lessons for many years. I have performed at various festivals in Ottawa including Musicfest Canada, Bluesfest, and Jazzfest.
