Anglican Church Women (ACW)

ACW members celebrating at Movie Night: Mamma Mia!

The Anglican Church Women (ACW) exist as a group to encourage all women of our church to use their gifts and skills to provide opportunities for fellowship, social outreach and fundraising.

The St James ACW hold many functions to raise funds for the various charities that we support. For example, as a result of our Movie Night showing Mamma Mia! we were able to purchase boxes and contents for the ladies at Nelson House. These boxes, delivered on Valentine’s Day, included bathrobes, hygiene products, and chocolate.

The ACW strives to support existing outreach programs and looks for new ways to expand parish outreach. This active group of women volunteers its time and talent to offer catering services for church events, funerals, baptisms and weddings. The ACW also provides leadership in the organization and management of yearly fundraising church events, including the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and the Christmas Fayre.

The ACW meet on the second Tuesday of each month when they share an opening devotion, discuss past activities, present opportunities and progress of planned activities and events.
