Ways to Donate

Whether you wish to be a regular supporter of the church or are making a one-time donation, we offer the following options:

  1. E-transfer to parish e-mail: treasurer@stjames-manotick.ca. (Please ensure we have your e-mail or address to send a tax receipt to.)
  2. By MAIL to:  Envelope Secretary – St. James Church

  3. Sign up for Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) – Fill out this PAR form or call Sam at the church office (613-692-2082), to request a form.
  4. ONLINE: through our parish website “Donate” button (or the one above) which takes you to our Canada Helps page.

Envelopes (a box of weekly envelopes with special donation envelopes included)

If you are a parishioner, and wish to regularly donate using cash or cheques, this way allows you that flexibility. Envelopes can be requested and picked-up through the church office. 

PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance) 

A direct debit program, processed on the 20th each month, that allows parishioners to faithfully support our church through an automatic monthly withdrawal from their bank account or a Visa or MasterCard account. Parishioners are able to increase or decrease the monthly amount as long as the change request is received by the beginning of each month. 

PAR enrollment forms/brochures can be requested from Sam in the office or found online at the link above. Your completed form can be placed on the offertory plate when in-church services are available, mailed in, or dropped off at the church office.

Interac Transfers 

For those who wish to transfer funds on-line directly from your bank account into the church bank account. You are able to specify your envelope number (if you have one) and if you have any specific requests for the allocation of the funds being sent (i.e. regular offering, outreach, PWRDF, other fundraising drives etc.). 

Note: For each of the above forms of giving, we provide annual tax receipts which are issued early February and can be emailed or printed and mailed depending on your preference. 


An on-line donation program for charitable organizations that allows donors to give to our church sporadically, biweekly, monthly or as a one- time donation. You may direct your donation to different ministries as well (e.g. Altar Guild for flowers, PWRDF or youth ministries). CanadaHelps issues the tax receipts directly to donors for contributions and you can choose if you want it sent right away or at the end of the year. 


It should be noted that any method of contribution has an associated processing fee for the church.

Envelopes – cost per box is a few dollars.

PAR – $0.50 per monthly transaction for automatic withdrawal from a bank account; 2.5% of monthly donation amount on Visa or Mastercard.

Interac Transfer – fee, if one, is charged to contributor by their bank separately. Please check your bank account’s fee structure.            

CanadaHelps – ranges between 3.5% and 4%. We encourage you to donate via the link on the church website or the Youtube channel for the most cost effective way when using CanadaHelps.
